Places to Eat

Restaurants range from typical Winstubs to elegant award winning restaurants. Alsace is also famous for its wine and beer, and a wide variety of each is available to supplement an excellent meal. Alsace neighbours both Germany and Switzerland, and The Council of Europe chose to locate its headquarters in Strasbourg in 1949, symbolising the political and cultural centre of Europe. The European Parliament and the European Court of Human Rights followed suit and also meet in Strasbourg .

There are many great restaurants and cafes to visit throughout the region, too numerous for us to list here, but below are a selection of those closest to the house that you may find useful:

  • Le restaurant / pizzeria Vaya con Dios in Villé
  • Le restaurant La Bonne Franquette in Villé
  • Le restaurant Wendling in Villé

Alsace is famous for several dishes, our favourite being Tarte Flambée, but you could also try the other regional specialities like Choucroute or Kugelhopf (Cake)
